What we’re doing

Shifting multiple buildings into community use and ownership

The National Lottery Community Fund has supported Platform Places and partners with almost £2.5 million over three years — made possible by National Lottery players.

The funding will be used to enable communities to come together and secure long-term spaces for the activities and services that they need the most.

Meet the Local Property Partnerships

In five neighbourhoods over three years, local leaders will work together with their partners and communities to shift buildings into long-term local ownership.

Want to see this on your high street?

There’s a new way of doing town centre property, demonstrated by pioneers like Hastings Commons, Stour Trust, SAFE Regen, Civic Square, Nudge Community Builders, Makespace Oxford and more.

We hope our pilot programme will lay the groundwork for a larger follow-on funding programme, and catalyse England-wide adoption of this approach to unlocking buildings for local benefit — at scale.

Meanwhile, get started on your high street with our inspiration and guides.
