Who we are
Platform Places is co-designed in dialogue with 25 leaders from communities, councils, asset owners and law firms across the UK.
Our co-founding partners include High Streets Task Force, Power to Change, British Property Federation, New Local, Radix and Shoosmiths.
Our work is guided by our core values of reciprocity, embracing diverse perspectives, active listening, dialogue and negotiation, entrepreneurship and joy.
The challenge
The town centre property system is broken. We came together to fix it.
Councils want high streets thriving for local benefit. Asset owners need exciting, impact-driven ideas for underused and vacant buildings. Communities have amazing ideas for their neighbourhoods, but struggle to access buildings to make them happen.
What we do
We’re catalysing long-term property culture change.
Platform Places convenes and supports councils, communities and asset owners, to create Local Property Partnerships in their town centre. This is a tried-and-tested process that brings buildings into community use or ownership, for local benefit, for the long term. We support these Partnerships with access to funding, technical expertise and networks.
