Islington Council secure genuinely affordable workspaces for local businesses in new developments through Section 106 agreements.
This provides spaces for at least 10 years, at a peppercorn rent to the council.
These affordable workspaces are then managed by a range of operating partners, appointed by the council, including not for profit organisations such as Outlandish and Town Square.
The spaces offer a range of opportunities, including offices for ‘tech for good’ and other social innovators, recording, photography and textile studios, co-working space and fashion retail outlets for local designers.
